Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage (localStorage) and session storage (sessionStorage) to save your preferences — for example, your acceptance of the age gate and your cookie settings.
Cookies do not automatically contain your personal data. They help the site function, remember your choices, and measure visitor numbers anonymously.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to keep Adelberg Creative running, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use our game. Data is used solely for improving the service — we do not sell data to third parties.
3. Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keep the site functioning: age gate, cookie consent setting. No consent required. | __age_ok, __cc_v1 | Session — 12 months |
| Performance / analytics | Anonymised visitor measurement via Cloudflare Web Analytics. Set only with consent. | __cf_bm, Cloudflare analytics | Up to 30 days |
| Functional | Remembers UI preferences (e.g. animation settings). Set only with consent. | localStorage keys | Up to 12 months |
| Advertising / targeting | The site may include third-party advertising cookies (Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising) when a visitor arrives via a paid campaign. Set only with consent. | Google Ads cookies (policy), Microsoft Advertising cookies (policy) | Up to 13 months |
4. Legal basis
We process cookies on the basis of EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), the Finnish Data Protection Act (1050/2018), the Act on Electronic Communications Services (917/2014), and the guidelines issued by Traficom.
Strictly necessary cookies are based on legitimate interest and do not require consent. All other cookie categories (analytics, functional, advertising) are set only after we have received your consent via the site's cookie banner. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
5. Managing cookies on Adelberg Creative
When you visit the site for the first time, you will see a cookie banner. You can choose "Accept all" or "Strictly necessary only". Your choice is stored in the browser localStorage key __cc_v1.
You can change your choice at any time by clearing that key: open your browser's developer tools (F12) → Application/Storage → LocalStorage → delete __cc_v1. The banner will be shown again on your next page load.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also manage or delete cookies directly in your browser by following these instructions:
- Chrome — manage cookies
- Firefox — tracking protection
- Safari (macOS) — cookies
- Safari (iOS) — cookies
- Microsoft Edge — delete cookies
- Brave — cookie protection
- Opera — web preferences
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functioning of the site.
7. Third-party cookies and services
- Cloudflare, Inc. — CDN, security, and anonymised analytics. Uses the
__cf_bmcookie. Cloudflare cookie policy. - Google LLC — Google Ads campaign tracking with consent. Google cookie policy.
- Microsoft Corporation — Microsoft Advertising campaign tracking with consent. Microsoft privacy statement.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and advertising cookies and set only strictly necessary cookies. The Do Not Track (DNT) signal is not currently handled by separate logic, as GPC provides a more standardised method.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy as the service or legislation changes. The updated version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date will change. We recommend checking the policy periodically.
